In reading we read Where Is Water?  For handwriting it was poetry and a Valentine’s Day book, about two slugs in love which was filled with poetry.  I had another small reading group up with while Miss Anna monitored and helped the rest in the computer lab with Explode the Code.  For writing the children crafted cards for their Big Buddies in 3rd grade.

In Social Studies  we got through a number of presentations and some very interesting family stories and histories.

We joined our Big Buddies downstairs to exchange cards with them and then each of our kids bringing a reading book down to read to them..  They also did a craft and provided treats if the kids seem a little animated when they get home. Tomorrow for Valentine’s Day and we have asked everyone to wear something red or pink.  We will have a little class celebration at the end of day around 2:30.  I have some treat bags, small cupcakes, cookies and we will exchange cards.
