Kevin Mandoske Kindergarten and 1st Grade Teacher

“Mr. M” is our all day Kindergarten/1st Grade teacher. He comes to Hillside Academy by way of New York. An Army Brat, he was born in Washington D.C. and grew up in the Hudson River Valley region of New York. Mr. M is a veteran of the U.S. Navy, completing a tour of duty in Vietnam with a Naval Helicopter Squadron. He began his business career in 1972, working days and going to college at night for his BS in Business Management. He worked for 36 years for the same company, American Tack and Hardware, and rose from a warehouse forklift operator to the position of Director of Manufacturing and Distribution.

He and his wife, Indira have been married for 49 years, they have 2 grown children and 4 grandchildren. After relocating to the Sammamish, WA area in 2008 to be closer to family, they both decided to start their second careers in Education. Mr. M obtained his K-8 Washington State Teaching Certificate in 2010 from the University of Washington.

 

Having fallen in love with the community of Duvall, Mr. M moved here in 2012.  Mr. M, proud to be a member of the Hillside staff, knows that Hillside Academy is an environment to treasure where children are given the keys to their academic future while experiencing a real feeling of family and community.
