Day 78

Creeping closer to our 100th Day.  Keep in mind on that day I will ask the children to bring in 100 of something.   We had The Fruit of the Spirit and spoke about love and God’s love for us and all things and of course our family and friends.  The children had art today and a lesson on still life drawing and painting.  Please read Miss Badieh’s monthly newsletter I forwarded this morning.  In reading we read I Love the Earth.  In writing we began our January memories book with the theme being winter.

Today was pizza day and we set a new record with kids electing to have school lunch today.  The details they remember sometimes astounds me.  If I change one small thing in the room, within seconds of them entering the room, they know it.  I forgot to mention I sent home Scholastic order books should you wish to add to your child’s library.  This is an amazing group of readers I must say.  Today we read our weekly Let’s Find Out.  Today’s edition was all about the President.  When I said four more years I got some “I did not vote for him” comments, and “neither did my parents”.  Too funny.  In math it was lesson 7-5.  The children had Movement class today with Miss Rachel.

I spoke to the kids about adopting a serviceman and women and they were excited about it.  More information will be forthcoming.  I will ask the children to write to them and I would like to put together a CARE box from time to time with goodies.

I did get a copy of the The Wizard of Oz, the Judy Garland movie, which we started today and I have been reading  to them from the original book a few minutes a day.  It’s Wizard of Oz fever!

Have a great weekend.  Stay warm!
