Today we read Animals Can Move.  Miss Anna was in to listen and help the children read.  In handwriting it was lowercase “u”.  In phonics it was Explode the Code lesson 5.  We finished our December Memories book.  The children had music today.  In math it was an Introduction to Unit 7.  In Unit 7 the children will work with number sentences and the conventional form of problem solving.  Ex. 2+2=4 .  In science we finished with our hands with the topic of handfuls.  We measured with our hands how many small cubes we could pick up and how large our hand is in terms of cubes as well.

Surprisingly some of the smaller children had larger hands. See the accompanying chart.

In the fun department we did get to see the end of The Velveteen Rabbit in group time, and we started The Polar Express at the end of the day.  Yes, the children have been excited as Christmas gets closer.
