Social Studies – Creating the family structure in our two communities.  I am looking for each community team to cooperate with each as they decide on their family roles in the community.

Spelling – Tests coming home.  Please review.  Most of the kinders words are from our Explode the Code unit  so while they may not spell them exactly correct I am looking for them to use their phonic sounding skills to be close.

Book Fair – I brought the children to the book fair and they made their own wish lists.  Try and stop in this week.  The dollars you spend go back to the school and into our classroom libraries.

Our Giving Campaign starts today.  Please read the flyer sent home in their folders.

47We started our day with welcoming our new 1st grader Mylie to our class today.  Everyone was thrilled with her addition and making her feel at home.

Reading – K – The Rainstorm
1st – Daily reader and in language it was main idea’s, and context clues

Social Studies – Back to the Wampanoags and Pilgrims as we listened to letters from the children of each society as well as adding people any families to our motif.

Math – End of Topic 5 (Numbers for 11 to 20) Assessment. Test results will come home tomorrow.

2nd – Lesson 5-5 10 more or 10 less

We started our November entry inour portfolios today and ended our day with Learning Centers.

Reminder that tomorrow is Pajama Day at Hillside.  Feel free to wear your PJ’s and bring a favorite stuffed critter.

This Friday will be a Spirit Day with the children invited to where their jammies and bring a stuffed pet if they wish.

Social Studies – The Pilgrims journey to America.  I have divided the class into Pilgrims and Wampanoags in preparation for making a motif of life in the Pilgrim colony and life in the winter forest of Massachusetts for the Wampanoags.

We ended our day with Learning Centers.

Coming up:
Next Tuesday is The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.  Please register if you are going and let me know if you can drive and how many you can fit.  So far I have Cooper, Brenden/Wes, Alexis, and Felicity parents driving.

From Student Council:
We are now collecting Box Tops so start clipping out your box tops for education and send them in.  We also have a suggestion and prayer box in the classroom.  So if there are prayers please bring them in.  Prizes to the most box tops for class.
