Kids looked great today! We did our annual Halloween Parade around the school and then returned to the classroom for our party.  Thank you to everyone for bringing things in for the party and helping.

Social Studies – Final speeches were held today and then we voted for our class President and Vice President.  They will go on this year to represent us at Student Council.  Congratulations Madam President Kaelyn and Vice-President Pepper.  I might also add great campaign run by Lexi and Sammy.

Science – The weather was great so we did a little walk about to see how we use rocks in everyday ways.

I have sent home your tickets in their folders except for the children that I am taking along with Miss Holly (Kellen, Kiabeth, Cooper, Sammy)  We have their tickets.
For those children that Holly and I are taking please leave off their booster seats or car seats at school when you drop them off.  You may drop them off at school and pick up at the regular time tomorrow.  I will be here.
Pack them a bag lunch.  No lunch boxes.
Dress for the weather.  It looks like we will have some rain.
We do not have to travel around the park as one group, so feel free to join me and my group or other parent groups.  Let’s try and meet around noon for lunch near the train depot area.

1st – Daily leveled reader and language “ending in s” and context clues.  Miss Chris (Temme)  was in today to mentor read and we welcomed Miss Jessie (Cooper) today to help on Tuesday mentoring our children.
I should mention that on Mondays we have Miss Jenn (Wes and Brenden’s mom).  On Wednesday we have Miss Layla (Deven’s mom).  On Thursday and Friday we have Papa Gary.

Science – Today we continued with our rock unit.  Jane brought in some interesting rocks to share.  Sorting was today’s investigation.  The children were given the task of sorting rocks into 6 groups by size and then by color.  They were encouraged to look through the magnifying glasses to spot differences from rock to rock.

Reminder that tomorrow is picture day.  We are scheduled to have ours taken around 11:35 .  Please return the forms if you wish to buy pictures or you can go on-line and order there.

Chapels Lesson Joshua

lionChapel – This chapel’s lesson was on Joshua and the fall of the city of Jericho.  Two of our students were selected to read this years bible verse.  Joshua 1:9.  Both Temme and Deven successfully recited the verse and receive this years special t shirt featuring Courage.  So if your child has a mind to practice please do  so.
