We read I Save Money. Children got an introduction to money along with their reading. In handwriting we wrapped up numbers with 1-10. Tomorrow I will do an assessment of phonic awareness as I introduce the kids to Explode the Code. You all have that at home to practice now. In science we started our exploration of our hands. We did hand prints and when they dry we will discuss the things we can do with our hands. What couldn’t we do if we did not have a thumb? Do not be alarmed by the red hands when they come home. Why your hands stay red after you wash off the “washable” tempera paint, I don’t know.
We celebrated Hans achievement of answering 100 questions in IXL, and spending one hour doing it. Good for you Han’s and keep up the good work!
Kids had Spanish today.
I introduced fusion beads to the kids today. Some have already done this craft where you mount beads on little, little pegs, and when you complete a pattern you take an iron and fuse (melt) the beads together. I do the ironing. This activity was a nice challenge for the kids’ fine motor skills and patience!
